St Patricks Day Drink Ideas

Here are five St. Patrick's Day Cocktail Ideas we found for those that prefer not to drink green beer.  I love me a green beer to get in the St Patty's Day Spirit but it can be difficult to drink all day.  These St Patricks Day inspired cocktails will mix it up and still keep you in the Irish theme.

Last-Word Variation:

  • 1.5 oz Mezcal
  • 0.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 5 oz Green Chartreuse
  • 0.25 oz Maraschino Liqueur

Instructions: Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker, add ice, shake and double strain into a tall glass filled with ice. Garnish with cucumber wheels.

Old Fashioned Whiskey Cocktail - Irish Style

  • 2 oz Irish Whiskey
  • 0.25 oz 2:1 Simple Syrup
  • 5-6 Dashes of Bitters

Instructions: Stir ingredients in a rocks glass. Add the largest piece of ice you can find, and stir for another 30-40 seconds. Garnish with either a lemon or orange peel.

Cameron's Kick

  • 1 oz Irish Whiskey
  • 1 oz Scotch Whiskey
  • 0.75 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 0.75 oz Orgeat (Almond) Syrup

Instructions: Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice, shake and double strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a lemon wheel or peel.

Absinthe Frappe

  • Mint Leaves
  • 1.5 oz Absinthe
  • 0.5 oz 1:1 Simple Syrup
  • 4 oz Seltzer
  • Ice

Instructions: Gently use the back side of a bar spoon to press 8-10 mint leaves against the sides of a tall glass, until you can smell the mint. Add the absinthe and simple syrup. Stir and add seltzer. Top the drink with ice and more seltzer if desired. Garnish with as much mint as possible.

Cold Irish Coffee

  • 1 Double Shot of Expresso
  • 0.75 oz Heavy Cream
  • 0.75 oz Simple Syrup (slightly under 0.75 oz)
  • 1.5 oz Blended Irish Whiskey

Instructions: Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice, shake and double strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a few coffee beans or a small grate of nutmeg.
